Bobbi's Party!!

I went to Bobbi's Party today. It was held in the CBD for 2 hours. Bobbi's professional team led by Sebastien Tardif, the regional director of artistry at Bobbi Brown were doing the off counter hands-on workshop on make up. I should really be attending workshops on dentistry but.... oh well....... I thought it's not a bad idea to widen my view, gain some skill and feel special!

I really love their foundation.. I 've always had difficulty choosing the right colour because  my skin doesn't have much yellow pigments. So no matter how well the colour matches with my neckline.. I always look "yellow/tanned" because of the yellow tints from the foundation..... but today I found the one that doesn't make me look so yellow! When I told them my problem they said that's because my skin colour is more like "porcelain" - man I love that word!! rather than "pale". Ooo porcelain... like Porcelain veneer with shade A1! Sounds so awesome ya ;)

It was relatively exclusive and there were less than 10 of us. It was really hands on, as close as it can get. They recommended me pale very pink colour for blusher and lip colour... and I got it...!! How daring..... So if you have time to meet up with me then you will see me all pinky pinky.. lol. Hope you don't get shocked.

After the "Bobbi's Party", I went to Martin Place... There're always lots going on around that place. Clumps of people wearing suits bustling around the city makes me feel my life is too free. I got caught by a group of people from Energy Australia, and they asked me to spin the colourful circle. It was so lame.. they were using a high heel to mark the area that is to be selected. They asked me how to save power with the fridge, what kind of power we are using in Australia and etcetc... I scored full mark (yippii... duhhh) so I got lotsa goodies like digital thermometer, sand clock, calculator and some stickers...

Then the next stop was T & C. I was going to collect the bracelet that was to be fixed... Silly people, they fixed the chain but didn't shorten it!! -_- Was I wrong in having high expectations on the jewellers working for T & C? Was I wrong to think that they are somewhat more special than others..?? Can't they read the instruction that's clearly written? Arghhh I have to go back next week again......Grrrrr

Of all the times that I've been here, I've never noticed a man carrying a clock on his shoulder before. Poor thing it looks very heavy. I guess all the time I was rushing into the building so didn't get to look around the place?? haha.

There was a group of people raising money to help Japan. By the time I got there they've finished the fundraising and were lining up for a photo session. This guy with a huge lens like bazooka (Nikonian) was taking photos. Sweet! I tagged along right next to him and went *click click* hahaha

The autumn is here! I can clearly see that on the leaves though the weather remains very warm. Everytime I go out to city I cannot believe how beautiful Sydney is. The balance between antique, nature and cosmopolitan is simply amazing. It's really a lovely place to live and I'm fully satisfied that I am here!

Make Up - part i

My step by step make up "study session" has began. How often do you see a 25+yo female (just realised "25+yo" and "girl" do not go well together) who doesn't know how to put on a beautiful make up? Did I mention that she's a Korean??!?!!? Pretty useless...

Due to the urgent need for the proper make up, I've been investigating the ways of putting make up on. So far I've only tried and learnt the basics; foundation, concealer, cheek blushers, eyeliners and mascara. Does this look good enough? Well obviously not! Further study is needed.....

On the other note, time to say byebye to Millenium...! I was quite looking forward to that place but guess things have to be changed. I am quite sad that the beautiful garden city will never look exactly the way it used to be. Hmmm. Q will be hunting for the lovely venue again this weekend so it's something to look forward to!

Hmmm. There is a display of LV bags on the reception of Millenium. I wonder if it can be looted............. hmmmmmmmmm

1st day in Chch


The highlight of the day was the beautiful Summer Glow Spa Retreat at Champs-Elysees, a luxurious gift from Q to mum (and me!!).  Yayyy~~~ I've been waiting for too long. Swimming togs were the first things that I put into my lugguage when I was packing for this trip.

Sang chauffeured us to the city on his BMer. Woot woot. And there it began the heavenly relaxing time.. which went on for about 3 hours.

Spa was fantastic.. there was no one else around so I got to have a good chat with mum, till my fingertips became wrinkly. Then the beauticians led us into a room where I was able to relax completely..... Seriously, I thought I'd never be able to fall asleep when somebody is putting creams and massaging my body but gosh I was wrong....!!

They used exfoliating coconut cream body polish, hydrating frangipani body mask and luxurious organic bliss facial, which were followed by the full body massage........ I fell asleep all wrapped up by body mask when the beautician was putting eye cream around my eyes... Mmmm... I slept so well I ended up having a towel mark in the middle of forehead.... they must've thought I was ridiculous. BTW I've made the mental note to myself about the products that they have used on me... This info will come in handy in the future ;)

Thanks to Q, mum was very satisfied hence the dinner was extra delicious! and I just realised that fattening time has began....da da da dum!

Gradation on my nails ★

Recently I've been doing nail art almost twice a week. For obvious reasons, my left nails are looking so much more amazing than the right ones. Hmmm I wonder why. Would patients think this is inappropriate thing to do as a dentist? Today I've invested on two manicures. Yellow and Gold Brown. Then along with the sparkly grey colour, I've managed to put some gradation on my fingernails. Awesome...

It looks better than how it looks like in this pic...trust me!

I should be cleaning and packing... but now that I've got my nails done I need to stay still. It's so hard to type!!!!

my new eyepencil...

finally got one for myself. didn't want black - decided to go for the dark brown for a change. somehow pitch black started making me look so emo.. everything is black. my clothes, shoes... hair... the only thing that's not BLACK of me is my pure innocent heart.... (errr........ ㅡㅠㅡ// ---> puke!!)

my eyelids have been causing me so much trouble for donkey years... and the only liner that works for me is the waterproof gel liner... which looks a bit unnatural... itz not that my eyes are the biggest most bright sparkling eyes among the asian girls ( *sobbbb* ).. so ive been hunting for the long-lasting anti-smudging eyepencil. apparently this one that i invested on is quite a good one... i tried it around 4pm today - and so far (after 3 hours) it's not looking too bad..... woot woot!

Cleanser review - Biotherm

After trying SKII, without any mercy I've moved onto Biotherm cleanser. Been wanting to try Biotherm products for ages especially the moisturiser that supposedly hydrates the skin. Heard it's good especially after having a night out when the skin requires a lot of hydration. But... I am/have to be a good girl now that I've left university. I am a proud member of society as a real working adult now. And plus I have no interests in having a night life when there is no Q (ehem hem!)... hence I concluded tat I probably wouldn't need the hydrating moisturiser... just drink enough water haha


However I still havn't gotten over wanting to try their products, so I've gotten the sample of Biotherm cleanser. Its full name is: Biotherm Biosource Hydra-Mineral Clenser Toning Mousse. Apparently it has zinc in it which is good for skin. But just like Vit E ... I'm not sure having Zn in your cleanser would have a lot of effect on skin. I mean.. how long does the cleanser in contact with our skin everyday? Not even 10min I'd say. 


Ok.. I think I've just contradicted myself here. If that's the case why do I go through all these trouble finding the cleanser..? Haha. Though it doesn't stay on the face as long as moisturisers or serum, it cleanses the face... if I don't have deep cleansing then all those creams wouldn't be so effective... right right?


One thing that I love about this cleanser is that the gel is very soft, creamy and has pale green colour. Here, one shouldn't be too fussy about the colour of the gel, but still, I've never seen a pale green coloured gel and it just makes me feel more refreshed. Haha. And when I massage on my face, the gel turns into a very light soft silky mousse and lathers the face so smoothly. It foams up quite a bit too, which I like.


Overall I quite enjoyed using this cleanser for a few days... a big thumb up! However I must admit that I am not too amused with it at the same time.. It did not wow me in any way and I want to try other products. .. but if I cannot find any better products, then I will definitely get this one....

Cleanser review - SKII

As my Shiseido (also known as Shishido to some people) facial wash is running low... the time has come. I need to look for another facial cleanser. I used to think facial clanser isn't so important, its only for a few min of massaging a day... till sometime ago I read in the mag that washing face with soap / plain cleanser is not any different to washing face with laundry soap... Till today I am yet to find out the exact evidence in this saying - however, I have no intention of rising the possibility of washing my face in "laundry soap", especially when my face is super sensitive to pimples! Arghh!!

So the next cleanser that I wanted to try was SK-II Facial Treatment Cleanser. At Myers in Sydney it is selling for $80. A bit expensive for a facial wash but the shop ladies were saying it'll last you at least 6 months. Hohoho I went on the internet and searched for the price - I can get it for AUS $59. Yippee... anyhoo I got the sample so I can try for a few days... and this is how I feel.

They advertise it being foamy facial cleanser. However, compared to the previous one that I've been using. this product isn't so foamy. I love the foamy lathery texture of the cleanser on my face. If there isn't enough foam then I tend to touch my skin more and hence the potential to speed up the wrinkle production. So if I buy this, I highly doubt that it will last me 6 months due to my over-usage.

Apparently, it has whitening properties... this is almost impossible for me to find out, especially when I have such a small sample and I'm using other skin cares with a bit of whitening properties. Mmmm. Do I really want to look paler? Maybe not.. but I want to stay the way I am. My bubbie likes it too. Anyways, whitening isn't at the highest priority on my lists so... this is inconclusive. So will just leave it.

Removes make up and other impurities and restores clarity to the complexion... yeah yeah ANY cleanser should do this or else it won't be called "cleanser". What a silly thing to mention but I guess it's something that you have to add or else customers might think that this product does not do the main job!

Overall I like the clean feeling afterwards and it doesn't make my skin feel tight / dry. All SK-II products do not have added scents but yet this cleanser has very nice baby smell to it. It is quite pleasant to use and I am looking forward to washing my face everyday (do I sound like I'm advertising? hehehe) but not enough foam makes me sad :( 

Rating: 6/10 (cf Shiseido 7/10)

But I like the brand though. Perhaps I could give it 6.5/10 hahaha. Alright. Time to try other cleansers...
